Join Housing Initiatives for our spring social and Talent Showcase. The event is a celebration of our diverse clients who have overcome many obstacles and
found a path to recovery.
Tues. April 25
Brink Lounge (701 E. Washington Ave.)
The Talent Showcase starts at 6 pm. It will feature three of our talented clients:
• Nikyra will share her poetry
• Nahanh will give us a sample of his hip hop dancing
• Danielle will provide the grand finale with her highly popular drag queen performance (parental guidance advised)
All three will also share their inspiring stories of hope and recovery after homelessness. In addition, two clients will have their artwork on display throughout the event: Calvin will share his unique water color paintings and Darryl will display his intricate sci-fi inspired models.
Our clients have amazing stories to tell. They’ve been through many hardships, but with the help of permanent housing and a variety of support services, they can find a path to a healthier life. Their stories may change the way you think about mental illness and homelessness.
Christine Ameigh, owner of Slide Food Cart & Catering is sponsoring the event and providing their famous home-baked potato chips among other delicious treats. This event is free and open to the
public. As the only organization in Madison that focuses exclusively on ending homelessness for those who suffer from severe mental illness, don’t miss this opportunity to learn about personal struggles and healing.
