Property Manager

Karen leads enthusiastically as the agency’s property manager. She is an avid learner, especially when it comes to evidence-based practices that contribute the quality of life for individuals living with mental illness. Karen graduated from Edgewood College with a degree in business administration in 2009 and embraces ongoing learning with a focus on property management and multifamily subsidized housing.

It was through Karen’s volunteering outside of her work during the Coronavirus pandemic that she decided to change the trajectory of her career, focusing on housing dedicated for individuals who have experienced homelessness. Karen brings a variety of leadership roles in non-profit sharing the most meaningful work was serving at a downtown church in Madison that operated a food pantry, meal programs and services for individuals experiencing homelessness.

Karen embraces the housing first philosophy equally important to her work are the rights and responsibilities of tenant and landlord. “Home should feel safe and peaceful.” Safe supportive housing is at the heart of Karen’s work in property management.
